What is LOVE

You can't define love. It is one of those amazing things that is uniquely different for everyone. What means love to you could be entirely different than what love is to me.

For me, love is comfort. It's knowing you're with your best friend. That you can count on that person. It's not love songs and butterflies in the stomach. It's not roses and rainbows. Love is trust, communication, and a mutual desire to support one another through anything that life throws at you. It's dealing with the bad stuff and celebrating the good stuff as a team. When I think of love I think of Friday nights at home, listening to jazz music in the dark. It's playing a game together or enjoying a tv show. Love is enjoying each others company, making each other laugh or sharing about your day to day life. It's waking up next to that someone and feeling safe and content. It's not having to think about what that person feels for you or what you feel for them because it's known and your actions show it so you don't have to be a resounding gong trying to profess your love. Love is accepting someone completely for who they are and not trying to change them or expecting them to change. Love is unconditional. It's about caring for someone elses feelings before your own. Doing things for that person without being asked so you can see the smile on their face. Love is simple. Love could be folding the laundry, or making their favorite meal for dinner. It could be the way you hold their hand or a simple look in a crowd.

No matter what love is to you, it's important to know yourself and to be honest with yourself about your feelings. Never be ashamed to let someone know you care. And never settle for anything less than EVERYTHING you deserve.
